New staff memebers from left to right: Elle, Airlie and Cynthia
Greetings!
This month I am very excited to introduce you all to our new programming staff! After a couple months of staffing changes, we are finally complete again. In the past two weeks we have brought on three wonderful individuals to our team: Cynthia Wilkerson, Airlie Parham, and Elle Marrone. This is a different structure than what you’re accustomed to, so here’s a brief breakdown of their roles:
Cynthia is our Program Manager. She is responsible for the bigger picture, long term vision of our programs. She is charged with evaluating the changing needs of our old friends and making sure that Little Brothers is continuing to meet those needs. She also recruits and supports our student interns. If you have any questions regarding programs, volunteers, or elders, Cynthia is the person to ask.
Airlie is our Elder Services Program Assistant. She is responsible for the day-to-day management of our elder programs. If you have any questions regarding elders, events, or referrals, Airlie is the person to ask.
Elle is our Volunteer Services Program Assistant. She is responsible for the day-to-day support and management of our volunteers. If you have any questions regarding volunteer opportunities, events, community service forms or more information on becoming involved with Little Brothers, Elle is the person to ask.
If you’re not sure who to talk to, everyone here is eager to hear from you and will direct you in the right direction! I hope you’ll join me in welcoming everyone to the Little Brothers family. We are delighted to be working alongside such talented and compassionate people.

With more than ten years of experience in non-profit management, Cynthia Wilkerson, the new Program Manager, is delighted to join the LBFE team. A former Volunteer Coordinator at FriendshipWorks, Cynthia is happy to be once again working with elders and the volunteers who serve them. (far right)
After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree from Guilford College in North Carolina, Airlie came to Boston to join the Massachusetts Promise Fellowship. This Americorps program provided an opportunity to develop after-school programs at a nonprofit tennis club in Dorchester MA. Five years later, she is excited to join the Programs team at Little Brothers. As the Elder Services Program Assistant, she enjoys meeting with the elders and helping them connect to new services and friends. When Airlie is not working on her masters degree in nonprofit management at Northeastern University, she enjoys exploring Boston and traveling to new places- so far she has had the opportunity to go to India, Ghana, Bahamas, and 16 of the 50 states! Elle Marrone was born in Arlington, MA and recently returned to Boston to be closer to her family after living in New York City for ten years. She received her BA in Urban Studies from Columbia University and has worked in policy, community organizing and education from Brazil to Chicago. She’s a part-time artist, dog-walker and the Volunteer Services Program Assistant with LBFE, where she’s excited to build bridges between Boston residents of all ages. “Also, it will be nice to share my favorite pastimes of cooking and crafting with new friends.” (far left)
