You can help relieve and prevent social isolation and loneliness among older adults. Your generosity allows us to connect the young and old at free, weekly programs where they build mutually beneficial, joyful friendships.
Each year LBFE Boston connects Boston's college students with hundreds of older adults living in public and affordable housing. Generations enjoy social, digital literacy, and creative arts classes together and share life experiences and skills.
Medicare Savings Programs (MSP), programs run by MassHealth, can help to pay for some or all of your Medicare costs. Call 617-284-1275 or visit MAsenioraction.org to apply or learn more.

Thank you to LBFE Boston supporter, Tamm, for donating these percussion instruments to the organization! One of the college student participants who attends the CitySites program at Longfellow House plays piano, and now the #olderadults can join in as well!

#InTheNews from NPR and 1 in 6 by 2030: 'The world's population is facing a historic shift: By 2030, one in six people will be age 60 or over.' 'In the seven years leading up to 2030, photographers around the world will show us what it looks like to live in this historic time.'
'As the photos and life stories of the subjects show, 72-year-olds lead lives of joy and hope — with worries, of course. And they have life lessons to share.' #1in6by2030 #olderadults #Aging #NPR

It's not enough to provide tech, there must be skills training to go along with it! At East Boston Senior Center, #olderadults and student participants practiced with trackpad and keyboard keys and learned about new types of software. And co-op, Meredith, said "Today I led the lesson, and it went really well! I'm proud of my preparation and teaching, and I'm looking forward to teaching more in the future."

#internetaccess is essential to participating in today's world. For more than 360,000 MA residents, the Affordable Connectivity Program (#ACP) has helped them to get online, including MANY Bostonians and our Digital Dividends program participants.
Despite the undisputed success of the ACP, the program will run out of funding in 50 DAYS - unless Congress acts. Please SPREAD THE WORD and TAKE ACTION TODAY - by calling or emailing your Congressperson. Link is right here! www.dontdisconnectus.org/#call-congress
