Communications Committee

Little Brothers – Friends of the Elderly (LBFE), Boston Chapter, is seeking volunteers to join our Communications Committee! Join the LBFE Family and help relieve isolation and loneliness among older adults. As an intergenerational organization, our direct service opportunities are largely limited to students, but we need YOUR expertise and interest to help us grow our impact and expand our programming!

The Communications Committee is composed of LBFE staff, board members and community volunteers and meets quarterly (February, May, August, November) along with project-based meetings as needed throughout the year.

Responsibilities

The Communications Committee crafts and directs awareness, marketing and advertising messages on behalf of the Board of Directors for LBFE Boston. It manages a schedule of campaigns that strategically aligns with and supports programs, events, fundraisers and giving seasons.

Development Committee

Little Brothers – Friends of the Elderly (LBFE) is seeking volunteers to join our Development Committee! Join the LBFE Family and help relieve isolation and loneliness among the elderly. As an intergenerational organization, our direct service opportunities are limited to university and college students, but we need YOU to help us grow our impact and expand our programming!

The Fundraising Committee is composed of LBFE staff, board members and community volunteers. Regular quarterly meetings are held in April, July, October and January. Project-based meetings are determined by the committee. Volunteers should expect more frequent meetings during the gala planning season June-Sept.

Responsibilities

The Fundraising Committee assists the LBFE Staff and Board of Directors in advocating for the organization and its mission, leverage corporate resources, and expanding opportunities for engagement with the organization.

Board of Directors

We are seeking professionals who are interested in a unique volunteer opportunity that allows you to be impactful and contribute to an exciting growing organization in a strategic way. LBFE Board Members will serve a three-year term to be eligible for re-appointment for up to two additional terms (for a maximum of three consecutive terms). Board meetings will be bi-monthly on the second Wednesday of the month. Currently meetings are virtual via Zoom.

We Are Especially Interested In Speaking With You If
  • You have been a on a non-profit board before and are ready to bring your experience and insight to another organization
  • You have experience in law, human services, healthcare, consulting, elder services, community advocacy, information technology, human resources and/or marketing.
  • You are an experienced fundraiser and enthusiastic about sharing your skills
  • You identify with the changing demographics and empathize with the importance of relieving isolation and loneliness in our most vulnerable populations
