Press Release

LBFE Boston Safely Returns to In-Person Programming

July 22, 2021

We’ve got a new look, and it’s more than just a facelift- with it comes a reminder that we’re not going back to the way things were- we’re reimagining the way they will be. The future we envision bridges distances, it spans generations, it breaks down barriers, and replaces loneliness with companionship in more ways than ever.

To usher in the future, and the “new normal” we are bringing you a month of BIG announcements! This week is one we’re very excited about…

LBFE is thrilled to be bringing back in-person programming!

This Saturday we’ll be kicking things off with the return of our traditional summer cookouts at Larz Anderson Park in Brookline. Thanks to our dedicated volunteers and a few safety modifications we’ll be able to celebrate the summer together, side-by-side.

We’re also excited to announce that our intergenerational CitySites programs will start moving back into senior housing buildings in September. We’re taking the lead from our building partners and following their guidelines for visitors and volunteers. In addition to our in-person CitySites programs we will continue offering online classes and activities for those who wish to continue social distancing, or are simply looking for more ways to engage with their community.

It’s been a challenging 16 months for everyone – we are so relieved and happy to be with our friends again. It’s good to be seen.
