Jennya Alexeyeva, NU ACES Team Leader
I’m Jennya, an 18 year old student originally from Tampa, Florida. I came to Northeastern University to study computer science. In my free time, I like to read, rock climb, and hang out with friends. This year, I’ll be volunteering at LBFE as part of the NU|ACES program. I’m glad to have been matched with LBFE; in high school, I volunteered with Big Brothers Big Sisters, an organization that partners volunteers with young children, and I’d love to experience the other end of the generational spectrum. I hope to see the world from a perspective that I’ve never seen and listen to stories of people with much more life experience than me. Personally, I’d like to develop my Russian skills; I’m a native Russian, but I’ve never had the opportunity to speak Russian to many people other than my parents. I’d also like to develop more people skills, as I’ve always been fairly shy. Overall, I look forward to meeting fellow volunteers and the elders in the program.
