Kyleigh Watson, Northeastern ACES Student Volunteer

At Little Brothers- Friends of the Elderly, we have a Highlight of the Week series where we shine a spotlight on members of the LBFE community including board members, older adults, volunteers, students, staff, CitySites (and more!) to learn about them and their experiences with LBFE. This week’s highlight is of one of our Northeastern ACES student volunteers, Kyleigh Watson! Read below to learn more about Kyleigh:

Hi! My name is Kyleigh Watson, and I am from Long Island, New York. I am a freshman studying Health Sciences and Linguistics at Northeastern University. I am part of NU ACES (Northeastern University Alliance of Civically Engaged Students), a program at Northeastern that has taught me about numerous ways to make a positive impact in my community. In my free time, I enjoy running, reading, and hanging out with friends. I spend my summers at the beach working with children and adults with special needs. I chose to volunteer with LBFE because I wanted to work with a population in which I have limited experience working with. At LBFE, I am already starting to see myself build strong connections in the community, and I hope these connections continue to grow stronger. I consider myself to be personable, compassionate, and helpful. I can use these skills at my CitySite to engage citizens with fun activities and stimulating conversation. From this experience, I hope to learn more about the history of my new city of Boston, and I hope to be able to share these experiences with a wider population back in New York!

Don’t forget to check out next week’s blog to see who will be highlighted then!
