LBFE would like to thank our volunteers who helped us drive elders to the picnic, delivered groceries, stuffed envelopes, visited elders, and led social and educational activities in elder buildings. (Whew, that’s a lot!) Here are a few groups we would like to give a shout out:
UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND ALUMNI visited and brought flowers to 10 elders in Jamaica Plain with Friendship & Flowers
LBFE Drivers transported 19 elders to a picnic at Larz Anderson Park
STATE STREET STUFFERS stuffed 4,000 envelopes for our summer sweepstakes (Check your mailbox soon!)
BRITISH INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL OF BOSTON collected and delivered a week’s worth of fresh groceries and pantry staples to 20 elders in Jamaica Plain
NORTHEASTERN UNIVERSITY’s Center for Community Service students led 9 weekly activities in elder buildings in the Symphony, Downtown, and South End neighborhoods.
Want to get involved with your group or just by yourself? It’s easy! Come to an orientation on the second Saturday of each month- and then if you have time, visit and deliver flowers to an elder. Questions? Send a note to Airlie Parham at aparham.bos@littlebrothers.org.
